The Guinness World Records team have shared a host of fun and unusual record categories for you to try. Want to run while dribbling a basketball or football? Or perhaps you’re up for the challenge of running the marathon blindfolded? Fancy donning a school uniform or a suit? Or how about running with an egg and spoon or even hula hooping while you race?

There’s something for everyone—and you could be the one to set a brand-new world record!

This collaboration isn’t just about breaking records; it’s about inspiring communities to embrace sports and challenge themselves in new ways. Shaddy Gaad, Senior Marketing Manager at Guinness World Records, emphasised how this initiative aligns with their mission to encourage people to push the boundaries of what’s possible. “This partnership with the Dubai Marathon offers participants an incredible opportunity to enter the record books while celebrating sports and healthy living,” he said.

Registration for record attempts at the Dubai Marathon will be completely free of charge from Guinness World Records. Additionally, participants will enjoy expedited processing and immediate consideration for record approval.

The deadline to apply for a record during the Dubai Marathon 2025 is: 1 January 2025.
