Known in the music world as MKO, Maduabuchi Kingsley Okpor is a UAE-based Nigerian artist and entrepreneur.
His music is a vibrant blend of cultural sounds and modern rhythms, capturing the essence of Afropop while celebrating a world of musical diversity. His last album took listeners on a journey through the multicultural energy of Dubai, weaving together Afrobeats, R&B, Hip Hop, Dancehall, South African House/Kwaito, and Middle Eastern influences. Known for his eclectic style, MKO’s work reflects his belief that music is a universal language, bringing people from different backgrounds together on the dance floor.
Outside of music, Okpor’s career began in 2005 in the events industry— his professional journey then took a pivotal turn in 2008 when he relocated to the UAE and transitioned into an administrative and office management role. Here, he gained invaluable experience in public relations (PR), learning how to represent companies while maximising operational efficiency. He later launched Art Fusion Night (AFN), an innovative art and corporate social event platform. Designed to provide a podium for undiscovered and emerging creatives from the UAE and beyond, AFN offers a space where artists can showcase their talents and connect with like-minded individuals.
Okpor focuses on business development today, leveraging his expertise in network building, customer service, and negotiation. His comprehensive knowledge of PR and managing client expectations allows him to meet targets while consistently fostering long-term relationships with clients, no matter how challenging the task. MKO thrives in the fast-paced, ever-evolving business landscape with a career of adaptability and success.
