Beware, the zombies are here! Well, they are part of two movies
premiering at the Gulf Film Festival that begins today. Envy the Dead and
Lockdown: Red Moon Escape have us super excited
(as you'd have guessed, we're fans of zombie movies) because it's an
interesting new genre for Arab cinema.

Written and directed
by Isa Swain, Envy the Dead is a UAE-Bahrain co-production that has already
been screened at the New Orleans Horror Festival, Killer Film Festival and
Buffalo Screams Horror Fest. It revolves around the struggles of a lone
survivor in the aftermath of a zombie attack.

Lockdown: Red
Moon Escape
follows Mishal and Rashid, who encounter zombies in the desert
during their road trip. One becomes a casualty and the other must prove
his innocence in the flick directed by
Mohammed Al Ibrahim and Ahmed Al Baker.

Sound intriguing
to us, see you at the screenings!

INFO: All screenings at GFF are free, 10 to 16 April 2012 at Grand Cinemas,
Dubai Festival City, Dubai and 12 to 14 April 2012 at Abu Dhabi Theatre, Abu
Dhabi. Envy the Dead, 6.30pm Friday 13
