Our Emirates ID is not only the one identification card we can use to register almost anything in the UAE, now, it can also function as a debit card.

Al Hilal Bank is the first bank to launch a service that allows you to use your Emirates ID to withdraw cash and make money transfers. All ATMs of the bank will provide the new service, according to the Arabic daily newspaper Al Bayan.

The UAE is the first country worldwide to use ID cards for banking. Mohammed Jamil Berro, Group CEO of Al Hilal Bank told Al Bayan that Al Hilal Bank is also the first bank overall to offer this service: "We understand and value the importance of new technologies, when it comes to improving the service quality for our banking clients."

The Your Emirates ID – Your New Debit Card project was initiated by Al Hilal Bank in collaboration with the Emirates Identity Authority, in an attempt to not only provide modern services to customers, but also as a gateway to gaining valuable customer data available on the identity card.
