Sharjah Police request residents to keep an eye on under-construction buildings
A significant number of the under-development structures in Sharjah are left by the proprietors without protection as work gets halted due to financial crisis. Residents of the region are complaining that this adds to the illicit practices in these structures.
Residents of Sharjah expressed their concerns over the abuse of the under-construction buildings and broken down houses, which are being utilized as asylums of illicit activities for illegal workers and criminals.
The Sharjah Police confirmed that following intensified inspections and awareness campaigns, the number of reports related to the illegal practices in the under-construction buildings and abandoned houses have come down to a monthly average of 11 reports.
The officer pointed out that the police are continuing efforts to eliminate all negative phenomena and reduce theft incidents. "We are trying to locate such buildings and arrest the perpetrators."
The official said police are taking action. He explained: "We are attempting to find such structures and capture the culprits."
