Prince George shows off his firm handshake
US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle met Britain’s young Prince George before having dinner with his parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and his uncle Prince Harry, at Kensington Palace on Friday last week.
When Potus and his wife arrived, two-year-old George greeted his guests casually, dressed in PJs and a robe! This dapper little lounge lizard confidently shook hands with the visiting duo, and enjoyed a laidback chat in what will go down in history as his first ever official meeting with a head of state.
Obama, who was in the UK to discuss matters of the European Union, joked during a London press conference: “I guess you all know why I came this week. It’s no secret. Nothing was going to stop me from wishing happy birthday to Her Majesty, or meeting George, who was adorable.”
Obama not only fulfilled his goals, he also gifted the Queen, who has just turned 90, a photo album of all her American tours throughout her life. Nicely done, Potus!
