It's Raining! Wet Weather Hits Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi
It's the rain!

Raindrops keep falling on our head! It's been stormy weather across the UAE on Thursday (21 November) with rains hitting Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. Everyone's talking about it too, #rain is trending on Twitter! The effects of the weather were plain to see, with cars and people wading through flooded streets, traffic jams as well as trees and electric poles uprooted in areas. This is how it's impacted life across the emirates...  

Fritz Kalkbrenner Gig at Nasimi Beach Moved Indoors
Nasimi Beach posted on their Facebook page, "Due to the weather, we'll be taking the deep house sounds of Fritz Kalkbrenner into Asateer Tent tonight (next to Nasimi Beach). Even the clouds are like Berlin today!" 

Beat Diabetes Walkathon Postponed
Organisers of the Beat Diabetes Walkathon announced that the fifth edition of the community awareness event, which was to be held on Friday 22 November has been postponed to Friday 6 December on account of "inclement weather conditions in Dubai".

Dubai Airshow Closed 
The organisers tweeted "Dubai Airshow closed due to severe weather; pls do not travel to the venue. Exhibitors & contractors will receive info regarding show access."

Fitness First Event Postponed
Fitness First's exercise experience Movement, scheduled to be held on Saturday 23 November, postponed. New dates to be announced.  

Global Village Closed
The entertainment venue was shut on Wednesday night (20 November) due to expected storms. 

Schools Shut
Schools across Dubai were shut and students asked to return home after the Ministry of Education asked private and public schools to be closed by 10am due to bad weather. No such luck for officegoers but we are heading into the weekend! 

Police have asked motorists to be cautious as they drive due to reduced visibility.
