WEATHER WARNING: Rainfall & Potential Sandstorms in the UAE
Danger Zone: Cars drive on a street as a sandstorm engulfs it

The UAE woke up this morning with surprising rainfall.

Grey cloudy skies and pockets of rain covered those travelling to work early in the morning and reports suggests the precipitation is likely to continue throughout the day.

Temperatures will also drop today across Dubai, with the chill factor keeping the thermometer between 12C and 20C.

The coldest part of the UAE is Ras Al Khaimah, where extreme lows of 7.5C were recorded in Mebreh Mountain.

The coast guard has also warned those heading to the beach to be careful as the water is particular choppy along the coast.

The further rainfall is not expected to last through the weekend, but overcast skies and strong winds may kick up a potential sandstorm.
