Visa on Arrival for Canadians in UAE

Canadians no longer have to apply for a visa in advance
in order to enter the UAE. The scheme was brought in on June 1.

Canada was dropped from the list of 32 countries, which
did not have to obtain a visa to enter the UAE, in 2011.

The prior scheme proved to be quite costly for Canadians
working in the UAE, who wished to bring their families here for holidays.

An official said that the new changes meant
that "the revocation of the visa-in-advance scheme reverts to the previous
position of a visa-on-arrival for Canadians.”
