VIDEO: Inside Ahlan!'s star-studded Hot 100 party
This year, on top of providing the ultimate list of must-follow personalities, the UAE’s ultimate guide to the country’s most popular people was on board with the environment.
Each of 2019’s winners are all stepping up and doing something to contribute to the fight against climate change. Compiled by the creators of Ahlan! Magazine, this year’s theme was sustainability, and you can see the full list by clicking here.
As always, our fabulous 100 was unveiled in style at a glamourous event held at La Piscina at Palazzo Versace Dubai. Guests mingled away while snacking on delicious food stations around the picturesque outdoor pool area.
Of course, our amazing sponsors were there to help us pull off the magnificent celebration.
Staying with the sustainability theme, Bath & Body Works hosted an extra special candle station, showcasing a video on how to recycle candle jars after candles have fully burned out done by Merit ElShenawy. In addition to that Artist Chamodi Fernando was there to create beautiful custom-designed art on the candle jars for guests.
Splash was there to exhibit their ‘The Aquarium of Truth’; a pop-up installation to raise awareness for ocean conservation. Aquariums have always been known to replicate what one would find at the bottom of the ocean. Unfortunately, due to rising levels of pollution, and uncontrolled dumping, the blue sea has turned into toxic catastrophe.
It was with this premise that Splash curated an inspiring pop-up, The Aquarium of Truth, a gigantic fish tank featuring plastic bottles, bags, soda bottles, straws and disposable cups to portray a true picture of what one would find at the bottom of the ocean. Eye-opening stuff!
And what would a Hot 100 party be without some bling? That’s exactly what our friends at Pandora did when they showcased their beautiful festive collection during the evening. Guests got to browse the classic and timeless jewellery pieces while picking what designs they’d like Santa to add to their Christmas stockings this year.
