Fans of The Spice Girls could be in for some seriously sad news as former Spice Girls member Victoria Beckham is said to have called in lawyers to stop her ex-bandmates from performing the group’s pervious hits!
People were thrilled when Mel B, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton announced in 2016 that they were planning to reunite as GEM this year to celebrate the band’s 20th anniversary. However, this may not be on the cards anymore.
The fashion designer has been very vocal with her feelings about the reunion stating that she would rather the girls sang their own new material, rather than the classic hits. However, it looks like she has now taken action.
UK newspaper, The Sun quoted a source who said, “She got lawyers involved as she has a writing credit on the hits and co-owns the companies that control the band’s legacy and finances."
The source added, "The girls are devastated. Victoria is proud of her Spice Girls history but this suggests she wants to cut all links with the group, which transformed her life. She is resorting to aggressive legal letters and it is an extremely sad way for things to end after all they have been through together.”
