ATTN: UAE Embassy Cautions Citizens Traveling To Thailand

Okay, so maybe you’re going to have to think twice before packing to leave for your favourite holiday paradise. The UAE embassy in Bangkok has recently released an official statement, and it sounds pretty serious.

The Ministry cautions UAE citizens to leave the e-cigarettes at home before touching down in Thailand, where possession of e-cigarettes is punishable by law. Think major fines and imprisonment, even.

Thai law also now prohibits travellers from carrying more than 200 cigarettes, or 20 packs of cigarettes. Acquiring any more cigarettes could result in some more serious trouble, apparently.

So embrace a tobacco-free detox holiday while you’re away!
