We all want to eat healthy food but it doesn't often match up in taste to the unhealthy-but-yum stuff. The folks at Fountain restaurant are doing their bit to make things easier for us with their Food for Life night. Think food that could help you lose weight, get your skin looking fab, improve digestion, and more.
On the menu are tom yum goong, a fiery soup made with straw mushrooms, kaffir lime, galangal and prawns that'll sweat the unwholesome right out of you; from the salad bench we enjoyed the super fresh crab, mango and avocado combination – you can dress it up with low fat yoghurt and acacia honey (it's got amazing anti-bacterial properties and is great for the skin) like we did.
You'll also find hot smoked salmon, barbequed seasonal veggies and chili con carne on the buffet. For mains, you can choose from whole baked local fish; lean tenderloin in yellow spice with bok choy; yuki udon noodles with bean sprouts and chicken; and our fave – roast turkey with sweet potato and cranberry.
And you don't have to deprive yourself of dessert either. On offer are green tea cake, whole meal and yoghurt chocolate cake, soya pana cotta and if you want to indulge a bit, there's the Salzburger Nockerln – it's a super generous portion of the famed Austrian sweet treat but won't leave you feeling stuffed. What's not to love?
