Treatment Review: Vita Liberta Spray Tan Tested by Sarah

Tired of looking pale? We try out the hottest spray tan in the UAE, and yes it really works!

WHERE: Pastels, Jumeirah, Dubai, 04 388 3534/3397, pastels1@eim.ae
HOW MUCH: Dhs180 per individual treatment
HOW LONG: 30 minutes
THE TREATMENT: Named as the official tan of UK TV show X-Factor, celebs such as Nicole Scherzinger and Cheryl Cole opt for Vita Liberata spray tan, so we thought we’d give it a go too. It’s free from nasty chemicals, parabens, alcohol and perfume and is 80 per cent organic, with botantical extracts that make it more nourishing for the skin than many other spray tans. It’s available in three shades – Hawaii, Ecuador and Brazil – so it’s suitable for just about every skin tone too.
To get this sun-free bronzing, I had to strip off and pop on a pair or disposable pants, and then stand in a black, tent-like dome while my beauty therapist sprayed the brown liquid over me. Afterwards I felt quite greasy and couldn’t wash off the residue until the next day, so I was glad I was wearing black – pale clothes would have been stained once I’d redressed. That night I slept in leggings and a long-sleeved T-shirt so that I wouldn’t stain the bed sheets either. Make sure you do the same if you try this treatment and don’t make any plans to go out that evening!
THE RESULTS: When I woke up in the morning and showered I was pleased with the remaining colour. Other than a few ginger streaks around my hands, I looked far more evenly tanned than I normally get from sunbathing. The colour lasted just over a week and I would definitely do it again.
