THE TREATMENT: Dressed in robe and slippers, I was escorted to a pristine and spacious treatment room where I had a brief skin consultation before the ‘Facelift’ began. This anti-ageing facial is designed to deliver immediate results using natural vitamin- and mineral-infused lotions created by reputable Australian brand Sodashi. Sold separately, these products don’t come cheap so this is an opportunity to try before you buy.
First came a thorough cleanse using Sodashi’s popular Clay Cleanser with Lavender. Then, following exfoliation, layers of natural ingredients such as gotu kola plant extract, which is known to stimulate collagen, were massaged into my skin cells in an aim to make them perky. Once all the latest buzz ingredients were applied, a self-heating clay and salt mix was lathered all over my face leaving only my nostrils exposed. A girl’s gotta breathe, right?
It may sound claustrophobic, but in fact I was fast asleep. This treatment is sooo relaxing! Plus, as the clay solidified it helped push the Sodashi products pore-deep, apparently, so it was all very good for my skin.
THE RESULT: Anyone having this treatment also gets a Sodashi gift to take away with them – such as the Calming Rose Facial Mist, which could come in handy when the UAE weather gets hot and sticky again – so that in itself is a result. ‘Facelift’ may be slightly over-egging the effects of this treatment, but my skin felt firmer afterwards, and the relaxation factor shouldn’t be underestimated. Unwinding is probably one of the most anti-ageing treats you can give your skin. And, trust us, there are few better ways to unwind than at Talise Spa with its all-day healthy dining menu, outdoor pool, indoor sauna, steam room and hot and cold plunge pools. The cost of your treatment allows you to spend the rest of the day here, so book in early with friends or your favourite novel and make a day of it.
