There's a new way to get from Dubai to Oman (and it doesn't involve a car)
Oh man, have we got good news for you (sorry, couldn't resist). Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched bus route from Dubai to Oman, which is ideal if you don’t have a car, or just don't feel like driving.
The three daily services take you all the way to Muscat, and tickets start from just Dhs55. Erm, bargain!
The journey, a partnership with Oman’s national transport company Mwasalat, takes around six hours, with a single fare priced at just Dhs55 and a return at Dhs90.
The three-time daily service - which departs from Abu Hail Metro Station, Dubai Airport Terminal 2 or Rashidiya Metro Station - leaves at 7.30am, 3.30pm and 11pm each day. The bus service will make a total of seven stops on the outgoing and return journey, including at Shinas, Sohar, Barka, Muscat Airport and Athiba Bus Stations in Muscat.
But fear not, the six hours will fly by, thanks to the luxe, 50-seater coach featuring free WiFi.
