1. Paddleboard Yoga
Best for:
Developing core strength and getting a toned tummy, just like Jennifer Aniston’s.
What’s involved: You’ll begin by getting to grips with Jen’s favourite sport, paddle boarding. The boards are surprisingly large and pretty stable. You’ll then drop a mini anchor from your board to keep it stable as your instructor runs through a yoga class with the waves gently lapping around you.
When & Where: Tuesday and Saturday mornings; JBR or Umm Suqeim Beach, Dubai (depending on the weather); Zen Yoga, 043 492 933, www.yoga.ae. UAESUP also holds classes at Yas Marina, Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Sailing Club, 055 225 3587,  www.uaesup.com.
How much: Zen Yoga charges Dhs90 per class; UAESUP charges Dhs50 per class. Both include the hire of equipment.

2 Booty Barre
Best for: Flexibility and lifting and tightening your booty until you can put Beyoncé in the shadows!
What’s involved: A medley of yoga, dance and Pilates, The Booty Barre is a brand new class that challenges the body with choreography and isometric movements – one minute you’ll be balancing a ball in the back of your knee, the next you’ll be hanging off a ballet barre.
When and where: 7.45pm Sunday and 9am Monday; Zen Yoga, Jumeirah Town Centre, 04 349 2933, www.yoga.ae. See www.bootybarre.com for more details.
How much: Dhs80 for single classes and packages start at Dhs300 for 5 classes to Dhs750 for one-month unlimited trial.

3. Bal-Lates
Best for:
Improving posture and getting lean and slender (think: Natalie Portman in Black Swan).
What’s involved: Bal-lates, the latest Pilates trend, borrows some moves from ballet. The class begins with warm-up exercises, then there’s a workout using light weights and the ballet barre, and the class concludes on the floor with ab exercises and relaxing stretches.
When and where: 9am Thursday; Zen Yoga, Jumeirah Town Centre, 04 349 2933, www.yoga.ae.
How much: Prices vary by package and type of class. Packages start at Dhs300 for 5 classes to Dhs750 for one-month unlimited trial; Dhs80 for single classes.

4 Bollywood Dance Classes
Best for: Getting lean limbs while retaining your curves like Bollywood beauty Malaika Arora Khan.
What’s involved: It’s no wonder Bollywood’s A-list look as in shape as they do. Getting a body like Malaika Arora Khan in Munni requires dance and now you can take classes in the UAE. The class begins with a series of stretches. Dance instructor Nisha then teaches you steps to a popular song, from Fevicol to Ooh La La. Lots of jumps, shimmies, hip twists and squats later, you will have burned loads of calories without even noticing.
When & where: 7pm Tuesday and Saturday; DUCTAC, Mall of the Emirates; www.dancewithnisha.com.
How much: Dhs50 per class and Dhs200 for a package of five classes.

5 Aqua Tai Chi
Best for:
Looking like the world’s most famous body owned by Tai Chi fan Gisele Bundchen.
What’s involved: Exercising in water is seeing a real revival, with classes as diverse as Aqua Kickboxing on offer in some countries. Dubbed a ‘soft’ martial art, Tai Chi is a series of slow, controlled movements and is great for relaxation. Classes are held in an outdoor pool, allowing participants to connect with the healing energy of water. It’s said to help with anxiety, arthritis and balance and is suitable for people of all fitness levels.
When & where: 10.10am Saturday; Dubai Ladies’ Club, 04 3499 922, www.dubailadiesclub.com.
How much: Membership of Dubai Ladies Club is Dhs10,000 a year, and this includes the cost of all exercise classes offered at the club. For a full list of classes available, check the website.
