As the founder and managing director of Plan B advertising, Indian-born Harmeek Singh is involved in the management of some of the UAE’s biggest public events, including Summer in Abu Dhabi, Dubai Rugby 7s and the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon. Last year he was also recognised for the hard work and creativity his company poured into making His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s Fazza Annual Championship a success. He received a royal accolade for the second consecutive year for his work on the 2013 RBC Heritage golf championships and cemented his firm’s status as one of the most revered management campaign agencies in town.
While he’s clearly of top-tier ranking when it comes to his profession, down-to-earth Harmeek hasn’t let success go to his head. Describing his typical day, he says: “It starts with a potful of decisions that need to be taken, eased out with creative sessions with the team throughout the day, and ends with the warmth of my family.” And, although many more people want to know him these days, Harmeek isn’t fooled by fakers. “The best piece of advice that I ever received was to hold on to real people, as they are becoming extinct.”
