Celebrate St Patrick’s Day
Irish expats won’t be the only ones painting the town green this week. Here are our top picks of Emerald Isle-style entertainment happening around the 17th…

Fri 13 Mar: See Sir Bob Geldof at the Irish Village
The Irish rocker’s a regular on these shores and says his calamitous concert last year, hit by torrential rain and a thunder storm, hasn’t put him off playing here again. He said: “This is my ninth visit to Dubai and it’s now become a bit of a tradition to celebrate St Patrick’s Day here. After last year’s downpour, playing on Friday 13th doesn’t faze me at all. We Irish certainly know how to party and, what’s more, it’s highly infectious, so it’s going to be a great craic playing to a couple of thousand lunatics at the Irish Village again!”

Fri 13-Tue 17 Mar: Hops & Oyster Festival at The Beach House

Thu 30 Apr-Fri 1 May

Blurring the genre lines this year will be Robin Thicke, who’ll headline jointly on Friday with Seventies funk legends Kool & the Gang of Ladies’ Night fame.
