After the light dissipates, a vibrant evening with delicious food will be on offer at Atlantis, The Palm. Arabian dishes, sweet treats and juices will be available in stunning displays during iftar and suhoor at the Asateer tent, as well as restaurants Kaleidoscope and Levantine. Dishes will include Ouzi, a lamb and rice dish infused with Arabic spices; Kebbeh bil Laban, meat balls made with beef and onions and simmered in a light yoghurt sauce; and Fish Sayadiyha, a classic dish served with spiced rice and caramelised onions.

SportFest at SummerFest Abu Dhabi

Yas Island’s du Forum will be taken over by global sports champs this month. English tennis star Tim Henman, Robert ‘Big Shot Rob’ Horry, a seven-time NBA champion and former Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs player, plus former Manchester United and England striker Andrew Cole, will be in town! Celeb coaching and sports tournaments will be held and there will also be special ladies’ events.
Henman will be at the helm of Racket Week from 13 to 15 July, with three-hour sessions running every evening from 8pm. Check the website for the full rundown!

Show World at SummerFest Abu Dhabi

Scooby Doo is heading to the UAE! Yes the cult cartoon character and his friends will be part of one of the shows hitting the stage as part of SummerFest Abu Dhabi. The theatre versions of kids’ fave TV show Lazy Town and Bananas in Pyjamas will also be heading our way, while The Muppets will be in town too! Bader, Anees, Elmo, Khokha, Ka’aki and Gharghour (also known as Bert, Ernie, Elmo, Cookie Monster and Grover) will star in live action show, Sesame Street’s Iftah Ya Simsim live: Treasure Hunt. Kids can also catch boy-morphing-into-an-alien phenomenon Ben 10 live on stage. The event is being organised by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority.
