1. Be Bar
This American-owned salon is Dubai’s first LA-style blow-dry bar and while owners Andrea and Lindsey’s team only specialise in blow-dries, hair styling and up-dos (they don’t do cuts or hair colour services), they do some of the best in the business! Top tip? Ask for Rica, she’s the only hair stylist in the region who’s managed to give us perfect beach waves.

2. That Hair Tho
Tucked away in JLT's cluster N, it's king of like falling down the Alice in Wonderland rabbit hole. That Hair Tho's whimsical decor, with a bold green vertical garden wall is bright and bold, like its super-friendly staff. That Hair Tho is relatively new to the Dubai hair scene, but this place knows hair. That Hair Tho has plenty of competent stylists, and you can go for a smooth sleek look, or if you're looking for a colour-pop, they're happy to oblige! Every appointment has their name written in chalk-paint on the mirrors, and you can get lash-extensions, nails, olaplex and whatever else you like done while you're in the chair. Look out for the fabulous discounts too!

3. The Dollhouse Dubai
One of the most playful salons in Dubai, we love The Dollhouse for its quirky interiors alone. They offer great hair treatments – the detox one is our fave – and our beauty columnist Tala Samman swears by Asma to create perfect, glamorous loose waves. They’re one step ahead with iPads and a flat screen TV to keep you entertained, too, so unwinding has never been so easy.

Sporting the USP of an aviation theme, JetSet marked its spot in the region with the wash and blow dry concept and there are three branches handily dotted around the city. With a team of highly-trained international stylists, you’ll definitely have your tresses on trend. The best bit? They have a dedicated Braid Bar, too, for when you want something a little different! Award-wining salon Pastels offers premium services for hair and also for nails and beauty. We’d trust their team of international experts (ask for Anthony at the Ritz Carlton branch!) who use high-end products including L’Oreal and Kerastase. Randomly, the hairwashing chairs are the comfiest in the region – you can recline fully so you’re lying down – and they regularly fly in international hairstylists from all over the world, so keep an eye out! 6. The White Room
In its pure environment, The White Room takes care of your hair, as well as your body and your nails. We’ll be honest – we’ve never actually had our haircut there – but they do the cheapest blow-dries in town at just Dhs65 for any length! So escape from the city’s noise and spoil your locks instead, without breaking the bank. The latest hair import to land on our shores, we’re sure you’ve all heard of Estée Lauder-owned Aveda. And if you only swear by organic products, you’ll definitely want to give it a visit as it uses all-natural plant and flower-based treatments. More than just a hair salon, they offer holistic treatments on arrival, a small complimentary back massage and there’s even a huge outdoor terrace where you can relax with sprawling views of the Dubai skyline. Make sure you book in with creative director Manuela for the full Aveda experience – she’s been with the brand for almost ten years and really knows what cut will suit you! 9. We Nails
Newly opened in Dubai Marina, we’ve never seen our hair look so shiny than after a blow-dry at We Nails! Prices are super reasonable, too, they do at-home services and have also employed hot new hair stylist Harriet in who will be sure to impress. We Nails often introduce money-saving deals, so keep checking their Facebook page for more information. So relax, enjoy and tell the lovely salon owner Neda Weaving that we sent you! 10. Belle Femme
A haven for Dubai’s style set, Belle Femme is all about the glamour, and is the place to see and be seen. Think bejewelled socialites and Chanel-clad businesswomen, on our last visit to the Business Bay branch we were looked after by Jen Atkin – Khloe Kardashian’s BFF and personal hair stylist – who has just introduced her amazing range of hair extensions exclusively to the salon. We highly recommend them as the best extensions we’ve tried in the region, and for amazing at-home blow-dries too.
