It’s been a busy year! Work-wise things have been hectic with the radio, TV and events. I think there was one week in November 2016 when I did 20 events of one sort or another. We upped our game at Dubai One TV with live coverage of Awards Season from Los Angeles and London, and I think the red-carpet experience at the Golden Globes and BAFTAs would be up there as one of the most memorable of the past 12 months.
I also went to South Africa, Florida and the UK with Prince Harry’s charity, Sentebale, which is always a huge privilege and I shared a stage at the Dubai International Film Festival with Hollywood lovely, Eva Longoria.
I thrive on the energy of live radio and live TV and love the buzz and the unpredictability of having to think on your feet. I enjoy the diversity of the work, and meeting and talking to different people from a wide range of backgrounds all the time.
Far too often you hear presenters or interviewers ignoring what their guest is saying or trying to hijack proceedings for their own gain. I was taught early on to listen to answers and then use them to move the conversation on. I actually think the art of listening is dwindling a bit these days as we are so wrapped up in our own worlds.
