Tom Cruise hit up Usher’s birthday party on 13 October, weeks after clubbing in London with a collection of new chums and heading out for dinner with a mystery lady, yet he hasn’t managed to visit his daughter Suri since July. So weird!

Onlookers are speculating that the former family man is in the middle of a midlife crisis after his bombshell break-up with Katie Holmes and subsequent quickie divorce back in June, but nobody’s quite sure why, with a private jet permanently at his disposal, he hasn’t made the easy six-hour flight from the UK set of his latest film All You Need is Kill to see his daughter in NYC.

Cruise’s longtime friend and lawyer Bert Fields was quick to bite back maintaining that “Tom is a loving, caring father. Suri is a vital part of his life and always will be.” Fields added, “Of course he’ll be seeing her soon.” But there’s plenty of partying to be done first, it would seem.

The Daily Mail reported, “Tom joined Oscar-nominated director Ridley Scott for a birthday dinner for chart-topping singer Usher – who proceeded to tweet a picture of the trio.” A few weeks earlier, the 50-year-old actor went to notorious Soho club The Box to celebrate Matt Damon’s 42nd birthday, where he reportedly started behaving in a bizarre, risqué way. He has also been spotted at posh London nightspot Annabel’s. Oh dear, Tom, just don’t turn into one of those embarrassing party dads, poor Suri’s got enough on her plate.
