Tom Cruise in No Rush to File Divorce Papers
Katie seems pleased with her alone time.

Katie Holmes may be all about the legal battle but Tom Cruise's lawyers are in no rush to file divorce papers against his estranged wife, choosing instead to let the actress "play the media" by
making the split so public.

The former Dawson's Creek
star  shocked T'T'own last month by filing for divorce after more than five years of marriage.

A rep for Tom previously admitted he was "deeply saddened" by
the split, which occurred just days before his 50th birthday on 3 July, but now
Tom's attorney Bert Fields revealed the actor will be taking his time to decide how he
wants to proceed. The lawyer told the BBC, "Tactically we can't say where Tom will file a divorce case and if
he'll be seeking joint custody of [six-year-old daughter] Suri. We are letting
the other side play the media until they wear everyone out and then we'll have
something to say... It's not Tom's style to do this publicly. He is really sad about
what's happening."

As for Katie, she seems to have a totally different approach.

The Romantics actress, 33,
spent most of the 6 July at her lawyer's office in midtown Manhattan, US Weekly reported. And while it sounds like things could get messy, TMZ just reported that the pair's legal teams are hoping to negotiate a full, amicable divorce settlement.
