Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Reach Divorce Settlement
Tom and Katie say they'll "support each other's roles as parents"

And it's settled! Less than two weeks after Katie Holmes filed
papers to end her marriage to Tom Cruise, the couple have signed off on a
divorce settlement. No public drama here or emotion of the jumping-on-a-couch variety, the entire affair was sorted behind
closed doors as the couple closed the door on their five-year marriage.

Details about the divorce settlement have been kept under wraps, but sources told
People that Suri is likely to live with Katie in New York, while Tom has
been granted generous visitation rights. Suri will reportedly be accompanied by her nanny and bodyguards while she visits Tom.

Sources also reveal that the agreement also includes details on what Tom and Katie can tell Suri about religion, including Scientology, which Tom actively practices.

Katie's lawyer Jonathan Wolfe said about the settlement, "The case has been settled and the
agreement has been signed. We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are
excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life... We thank
Tom's counsel for their professionalism and diligence that helped bring about
this speedy resolution."

Tom's lawyer, Bert Fields, added about the agreement, "Tom is really pleased we got there, and so am I."

Tom and Katie also released a joint statement, saying
that their main focus will always be their six-year-old daughter Suri: "We
are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our
daughter Suri's best interests. We want to keep matters affecting our family
private and express our respect for each other's commitment to each of our
respective beliefs and support each other's roles as parents."

They might be on the same page when it comes to Suri but the
Rock of Ages star and his former wife have reacted very differently in public since
the divorce papers were filed. Katie cited "irreconcilable
differences" for the split in New York on 28 June and requested sole legal
custody and "primary residential custody" of Suri.

Since then Katie has been spotted out and about in NYC, while Tom has
maintained a low profile since returning to LA from Iceland, where he was
filming his new movie Oblivion. He spent his 50th birthday last Tuesday (3 July)
at home in Beverly Hills with his adopted teenage kids, Connor and Bella, from
his second marriage to Nicole Kidman. On the same day, Katie and Suri made a
pap-covered trip to Sundaes & Cones for a spot of ice cream.

Earlier Tom's attorney Bert Fields had claimed that the
superstar was in no rush to file his own divorce papers to counter Katie's demands,
telling the BBC, "Tactically we can't say where Tom will file a divorce
case and if he'll be seeking joint custody of Suri. We are letting the other
side play the media until they wear everyone out and then we'll have something
to say."

It's been said now, and Katie's side was definitely not worn
out. And in a case of art following life, the actress will begin shooting for Molly, a movie about a single mum, very soon.
