Things to do This Week
Sat 4 Apr
Dream on with One Direction
It’s been a tough few weeks in the world of 1D, with troubled member Zayn Malik dropping out due to mental health woes and the other lads fearing for the boy band’s future. If you’re one of the lucky One Directioners to have got hold of a ticket – the concert sold out in 22 days – make sure you plan ahead as a humongous 32,500 screaming fans plan to descend upon Dubai’s Sevens Stadium. It’s the UAE’s biggest-ever concert, so to ensure you don’t get caught up in any ensuing chaos, see doneevents.com for travel tips and download the government’s Event’s Security Committee app for iPhone, Android and Windows.

Try Italian Treats at Prego’s!
Prego’s presents a month of regional specialities drawn from Italy’s farthest-flung corners. For starters, Prego’s takes you to the regions of Liguria and Toscana, offering a seafood platter and crispy duck breast on artichokes and asparagus salad, followed by cream of potatoes with sautéed porcini mushroom soup from the Piemont region. For the mains, chef Salvatore Barcellona’s recreated dishes from Campania, Calabria and Sardinia, including stuffed chicken with sun-dried tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella, grilled octopus on sautéed Tropea red onion and pan-roasted fresh herbs marinated lamb loin. No Italian meal would be complete without pasta, so sampling the pumpkin cappellacci and orecchiette pasta inspired by recipes from Puglia and Lombardy, is a must.
