From 10 Aug
Dubai Screen Acting & Writing Courses
Fancy yourself as the next Jennifer Lawrence or Quentin Tarantino? This August, Constellation, Dubai’s newest and most exciting performing arts company, launches a triple-bill of five-week courses in screen acting and screen writing. The courses will be run by Alex Broun, Co-Artistic Director of Constellation, who has over 20 years of acting experience working on TV series such as Home and Away and Neighbours.
Screen Acting for Beginners explores all the essentials of acting for the screen, from on-camera techniques to auditioning. Screen Acting – Advanced delves further into the craft, looking at how to portray deep emotions. In both courses, there’s an option to have a professional show reel created, and students will be introduced to filmmakers and agents who can advise on how to take the next steps into the industry.
For those who want to write tomorrow’s screen blockbusters rather than star in them, the Screen Writing Course trains students to develop interesting characters, write convincing dialogue and overcome the structural challenges of writing for film.

INFO: Screen Acting for Beginners, every Mon from 10 Aug-7 Sep; Screen Acting – Advanced, every Tue from 11 Aug-8 Sep; Screen Writing, every Wed from 12 Aug-9 Sep. All courses run 7pm-10pm. Each course costs Dhs1,000; get a Dhs200 discount when you sign up for book both for screen acting and screen writing courses; Constellation, suite 1002 (10th floor), Al Thuraya Tower 1 in Media City, 04 438 5574, jane@constellation.ae
