Over the coming months, six new theme parks will open in Dubai. First to throw their gates wide on 15 August will be IMG Worlds of Adventure, next to Dubai’s Arabian Ranches. For Dhs300 a ticket, you can experience movie-themed rides from Avengers Flight of the Quinjets to Spider-Man Doc Ock’s Revenge. Skip through adventure zones dedicated to Marvel, the Lost Valley and Cartoon Network, catch a movie at the Imax theatre and grab dinner at recreations of famous film diners. And don’t worry about the searing August temperatures – it’s all under one air-conditioned roof.

Next up, in October, Dubai Parks and Resorts unleashes five more attractions opposite Palm Jebel Ali: Legoland, Legoland Waterpark, Motiongate, Bollywood Parks and Riverland. Legoland and its adjoining waterpark will keep the kids entertained with its replica Burj Khalifa, a children’s driving experience and a factory tour showing how Lego bricks are made. Motiongate offers more movie-related fun spanning areas from Smurf’s Village to Lionsgate where you can travel on Hunger Games’ Capitol Bullet Train. The world’s first Bollywood Parks pays homage to India’s showbiz industry, and Riverland, divided into zones themed on different countries, including medieval France and 1950s America, will host live music for guests visiting its many restaurants, bars and shops. We can’t wait to see it! INFO: imgworlds.com, dubaiparksandresorts.com
