IMG Worlds of Adventure is Open!
Join the 30,000 people expected through the doors each day at Dubai’s IMG Worlds of Adventure, which just launched on 31 August. Inside this air-conditioned indoor theme park, you’ll find an outlet to model your favourite jumpers (it’s chilly), a selection of adrenalin rides (brace yourself for the 400m-drop on the Predator), The Haunted Hotel where classically trained zombies are ready to pounce (shudder!) and 5D cinema (it’s like 3D with added physical elements, including smoke machines and moving seats). Hold on for a super-fast ride! INFO: Dhs300 for adults, Dhs250 for children, 12noon-8pm daily, located on E311 (Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road) near Arabian Ranches, next to Global Village, imgworlds.com/en

Jump on the Jamaican Bandwagon
Are Jamaican restaurants the new buses? You wait forever for one and then two come along at once...We’re talking about newly-opened Ting Irie and Miss Lily’s. The former promises a fresh take on Caribbean cuisine, from rotisserie jerk chicken to Jamaican oxtail with spices from the motherland. Plus there’ll be reggae and dancehall beats from the genre’s best DJs, bringing you good vibes, so “er’ting will be irie”, as in, everything will be alright. Miss Lily’s Caribbean concept hails from New York. Inside you’re transported to a relaxed beach shack-cum-Jamaican diner. Already hot on the must-visit list for foodies (we hear there’s currently a week-long waiting list for tables!), the menu is loaded with the likes of jerk-grilled chicken, chilli king crab and, the star of the show, jerk ramen. Afterwards you can dance to old-school reggae and dream you’re on holiday somewhere exotic.
