The To-Do List

MAMMA MIA AT URBAN OUTDOOR CINEMA

SAT 21 JAN

Round up your mates and enjoy a movie outdoors at Habtoor Grand Resort. Urban Outdoor Cinema has shown an array of classics, but we’re pretty excited to see Mamma Mia with Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried. If you haven’t seen it yet (um, where have you been?), this is the perfect opportunity to see the Abba-inspired movie that also has its own West End and Broadway shows.

INFO: Dhs75, 7.30pm-10pm, Habtoor Grand Resort, Autograph Collection, Jumeirah Beach, Dubai, 04 399 5000, dubai.platinumlist.net

CABALLEROS STEAK NIGHT AT TORO TORO

EVERY WED

Despite the name and our female gender, Ahlan! headed to renowned chef Richard Sandoval’s Toro Toro to sample its new Caballeros (Gentlemen’s) night, which is open to all and includes unlimited picanha steaks. In Brazil, where picanha is griddled table-side on hotplates, entire restaurants are dedicated to this cut of meat, taken from just above the tail. You’ll get smoked guacamole and a choice of two hot and two cold sharing starters. We had ceviche, octopus, mushroom flat bread and grilled king prawns and were stuffed before the main course came with its two side dishes, and then there was a dessert to share, plus a bottle of house grape! INFO: Dhs750 for two, from 7pm, Grosvenor House Dubai, Tower Two, 04 317 6000, torotoro-dubai.com

BRUNCH AT CATCH DUBAI

EVERY SAT

Known for serving up a selection of seafood, nibbles such as its truffle fries and Instagrammable desserts including Hit Me (a tower of cake, chocolate and ice cream), Catch Dubai’s certainly made its mark on the city. The great news is the eatery is now serving brunch, too! Expect avocado on toast, lobster rolls, cinnamon rolled pancakes, chicken salad, chicken and waffles, crab cake Benedict and more. Are you drooling yet? INFO: Dhs275 with soft drinks, Dhs399 with unlimited house drinks, Dhs449 with grape, bubbly and cocktails, 1pm-4pm, The Fairmont Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Road, 04 357 1755, reservations@catchdubai.com
