The Autumn/Winter 14 London Collections: Men started in London yesterday and there was a star-studded turnout. The men's fashion week started two years ago with just a few shows, and it's since grown to a three-day event that shows collections from some of the hottest men's designers including Burberry Prorsom, Topman Design, Tom Ford and Christopher Kane.
Two of the biggest shows on day one came from Topman Design and MAN. At the Topman Design show we saw a colour palette of black and navy with well-cut tailored pieces being paired with chunky knits. There was lots of check prints and tartan materials which was in line with the women's shows we saw back in September.
Meanwhile at the MAN show there was inspiration from teddy bears of all things! Bears were printed on jumpers and hats were finished with Mickey Mouse style ears! (Not sure you'll get your hubby in one of them!) There was a workers vibe to the show with camo-printed pieces and big heavy biker boots.
But it was the front row's that everyone was talking about when male model and ultimate hottie David Gandy showed up! He sat alongside Tinie Tempah and Harry's Styles' BFF Nick Grimshaw. The smallest member of boyband JLS, Aston Merrygold was there too looking rather dapper in a leather ensemble.
Today there are shows from Christopher Kane, JW Anderson and Alexander McQueen and we can't wait to see who's sitting on the FROW to catch a glimpse on next season's menswear trends.
