The first codeshares under the new deal have just been announced

We were floored when the news broke that Emirates and flydubai announced their partnership.

Can you imagine, Emirates perks at flydubai prices? What a treat!

Well it's officially become a reality, as the two airlines have just announced that Emirates will codeshare on 29 routes operated by flydubai, expanding its network across three continents, starting today. This means that while these flights will be operated by flydubai, passengers will be able to earn Emirates Skywards miles on them.

Passengers can also avail the Emirates free checked baggage allowance. Skywards Premium members can enjoy their extra checked baggage allowances of 20kg (Platinum members), 16kg (Gold members) and 12kg (Silver members) on codeshare flights operated by flydubai, reports Gulf News.

Skywards Silver, Gold and Platinum members travelling on codeshare flights can also access flydubai’s Business Check-in counters and receive priority tags as a part of the integration.
