The abandoned five-year-old boy STILL hasn't been claimed 10 days later
The little boy who was abandoned at a Dubai mall still has not been claimed.
The five-year-old was found at a mall in Deira on September 7, and now, authorities have handed him over to a local shelter after his parents went missing.
The young boy will be under the custody of Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC) and they will be taking all legal actions, including making a decision for the legal adoption of the abandoned child.
People were quick to react, spreading the news and leaving comments, hoping the child's parents will see finally be found and bring him back home.
But the whereabouts of the boy's parents is still unknown. When asked for his father's name, the boy, said "Superman."
Unfortunately for the child, once his family is found, they could face child endangerment charges and expect one of the following according to the law:
- No less than Dhs10,000 fine and possibly a three-year jail sentence for putting the life of a child under seven in danger
- Two-year jail for anyone who puts the life of a juvenile under 15 at risk
