Taylor Swift has hit a roadblock in an attempt to trademark the title of her new album, Lover.

In July, the Shake It Off hitmaker filed documents with U.S. Patent and Trademark officials to capitalise on the word 'Lover' with merchandise, including phone cases, guitar picks, key chains, stationery and drinking glasses.

However according to The Blast, Swift's application was rejected because there are too many other products using the word.
