Tasty Thai Minus the Calories? Sign Us Up!
You might think that it’s too good to be true, but eating out just got a whole lot healthier, thanks to a new collaboration between Mango Tree’s head chef, Peter TSeng and international clinical dietician, Anna Pettit, which fuses the rich aromas of Traditional Thai cooking with healthier preparation techniques such as steaming, woking and grilling to reduce calories. Focusing on a menu to both nourish the body while delighting the senses, dishes include virtuous starters such as the Yum Hua Plea – a banana blossom, mint and coconut salad with a chilli dressing - and the Po Pia Sod Thai – spring rolls of Asian salad, sunflower sprouts and tofu croutons. Each dish is filled with antioxidants, nutrients and vitamins, allowing diners to enjoy their favourite Thai meals whilst feeling guilt-free.
A signature dish on the new menu will be the Pla Yang Hor Bai Kluay Samunprai – the catch of the day, wrapped in banana leaves with Thai herbs and spices, which is steamed and then charred, while carnivores will adore the protein-rich Nuea Yang Massaman, a chargrilled rib eye steak, marinated in ‘Massaman’ curry spice with sweet potato and coconut salad. Wipe that drool of your face!
