Sylvester Stallone's Son Found Dead
Sage Stallone, son of movie-star Sylvester Stallone has been found dead in his Californian Studio City, apartment.
According to news reports the body laid undiscovered for at least three to four days before being found on Friday in his Los Angeles home.
A housekeeper who is believed to have been at the residence earlier in the week was reportedly instructed not to go into his room, which a law enforcement source described as "disgusting" and foul-smelling.
George Braunstein, Sage's attorney, confirmed the tragic news to the New York Post, insisting the cause of his client's passing on 13 July is unknown at this time.
Braunstein goes on to say, "He was in good spirits, and working on all kinds of projects. He was planning on getting married. I am just devastated. He was an extremely wonderful, loving guy. This is a tragedy."
Sage’s mother, Sasha Czack, has been told the sad news. His father is currently at Comic-Con in San Diego, California promoting The Expendables sequel.
A statement from the movie star's publicist reads, "Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son Sage Stallone. His compassion and thoughts are with Sage's mother, Sasha. Sage was a very talented and a wonderful young man. His loss will be felt forever."
Commander Andrew Smith with Los Angeles Police Department tells People that reports that illegal substances were involved in Sage's death are only speculation and the coroner's office will likely spend several weeks compiling a toxicology report.
Smith adds, "It sounds like a terrible tragedy. He was way too young to die. It could have been a heart attack or a stroke."
A representative for the LAPD states, "There is no suspicion of foul play or criminal activity."
Sage made his acting debut alongside his father in Rocky V but turned down the chance to reprise his role as the movie boxer's son, Robert Balboa, in 2006 movie Rocky Balboa. He also starred opposite his father in 1996's Daylight.
Celebrity friends have since flocked to Twitter to offer words of support.
Denise Richards declares, "my heart goes out to Sly Stallone & your family...." Lisa Marie Presley adds, "My heart goes out to Sylvester Stallone and his family for their incredible tragedy and loss".
Whoopi Goldberg lamented on her Twitter account, "A really great guy has lost his son today. Sending much love to Sylvester Stallone and the family. Hug your kids, life can change so quickly, tell them how much they mean to you."
