It has been just announced that the home furnishing giat IKEA has kept its promise to go plastic free by 2020.
This means single-use use plastic products like straws, plates, cups, freezer bags, garbage bags and plastic-coated paper plates and cups are going to be removed from the home furnishing range globally.
IKEA has also introduced a new range of disposables for all IKEA restaurants, bistros and cafés.
Existing cups, cutlery, bowls, plates and straws have been replaced with products made with materials from renewable sources.
Single-use plastic can pollute ecosystems, such as oceans and waterways, and harm wildlife if it is not disposed of responsibly.
