With six children between them, this duo launched the region’s first mass event for families with twins or triplets, bringing together more than 400 sets of twins and 33 sets of triplets for one massive party.
Tell us about the event.
NATHALIE (L): It was amazing. Dubai’s Safa Park was full of twins and triplets everywhere. We had organised loads of events and had lots of fun.
SUMAN (R): We also grew our community by 400 per cent, we now have more than 500 families from over 45 nationalities.
What’s new for 2013?
SUMAN: This year our second festival will be held at Dubai’s Zabeel Park in March. We’ll have even more activities, including the first-ever fashion show entirely with twins.
How did it all start?
NATHALIE: It was Suman’s idea! She asked me if I wanted to go on this crazy ride with her.
SUMAN : It started as a picnic in the park for our non-profit support group called Twins, Triplets or More. Then I realised there are lots of adult twins out there too. The vision for a bigger gathering formed.
Was it easy?
NATHALIE: I’ve never been so stressed in all my life!
SUMAN: No. Firstly, we needed to establish a trade licence and we had a very short lead time of four months to put the whole thing together from conceptualising it to getting companies on board to marketing and finally delivering an event without knowing exactly who was going to attend. But it was a great learning curve. So onto bigger and better!
