Street Nights At The Dubai Food Festival
The Dubai Food Festival is nearly upon us, and we're already picking through some of the events we're looking forward to. One of them is definitely Street Nights, a must-visit event in the heart of Al Quoz for those of us who like their street food.
The community initiative will bring together practitioners of art, music and - obviously - cooking. For two nights, hundreds of local and international artists will be performing live, while the likes of Moti Roti, Fume, Fraiche, Maple Leaf, Hanoi, Shakeism, Logma, Essentialy, Melt and Panifico will be just some of the gastronomic venues who will be setting up pop-up street food stalls.
The music programme, curated by Deep Crates Cartel (the local champions of alternative music and street art) will feature local and regional talents such as Hamdan Al Abri, Malika, Parallel Sound System and many more. International celebrity artists and DJs are also scheduled for surprise appearances.
Some of the renowned street artists taking part include L7M, Bandi and Zombi. The interactive event will allow visitors to vote for their favourite art pieces during on-site competitions, International street artists are attending from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United States, Brazil, United Kingdom, Switzerland, New Zealand, France and Spain will be collaborating with local artists to create a unique canvas - with some pieces created during the evening will be available for sale at a closing auction.
Street Nights will be coming to Street 4B in Al Quoz industrial area on Friday Feb 20 and Saturday Feb 21, so leave the oven well alone that weekend. For more details on the Dubai Food Festival, visit www.dubaifoodfestival.com.
