Stepping out...with Lisa
Oh, Mamma Mia!
We were invited by one of Johnny’s West End friends to watch Mamma Mia! at Dubai World Trade Centre. What a fantastic show and cast! I’ve always been a fan of Abba’s music, but I didn’t appreciate just how many tunes they’d written – it was hit after hit! The audience loved it and were all up dancing by the end, even the guys. We managed to grab a Steps-style photo with some of the cast and I told them how I’d met Björn when we performed an Abba medley at the Brits back in 1999, which was also where I met Johnny – he was there dancing for Robbie Williams!
My RAK Staycation
After all the partying last year, I wanted some time out with the family. We decided against jumping on a plane and thought we’d enjoy a few days away here in the Emirates instead, so we could avoid all the usual hassle of going through airports.
We stayed at the Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa. It’s perfect for families as there’s a really good kids’ club and the spa is fabulous. Johnny and I loved our quality time watching the kids playing as we sipped our sundowners at sunset! If you're looking for a great (and easy) escape, this is a sound option.
Back to School
We had a fantastic first week back at our Dubai Performing Arts Academy. It was great to catch up with all our students and see how enthusiastic they were for the term ahead!
After our New Year break, I dragged Johnny around the sales at Dubai Shopping Festival to see what mega-bargains I could find…
Topshop has an incredible 50 to 75 per cent off items and I fell in love this white faux leather and fur bomber jacket (left), reduced from Dhs425 to Dhs199. Perfect for the chilly morning school runs! Next, we paid a visit to one of my fave shoe stores, Gina, where I found these gorgeous Swarovski encrusted red stilettos (above) reduced by Dhs2,000 to Dhs4,725.
