This week I celebrated my 40th birthday! My lovely husband had told me that he was planning a few surprises and to leave it all up to him, which I thought was romantic and meant that I didn’t have the stress of organising my big day.
I really wasn’t sure what was in store, the only clue Johnny gave me was to wear turquoise, my favourite colour. On my birthday, I opened all my cards and presents and a beautiful diamond set of earrings and pendant to match the eternity ring Johnny bought earlier in the year. We went for lunch at Bussola, at the Westin and so I put my turquoise dress on and birthday jewellery and we headed over there with our children Jaden and Star Lily. I was feeling both excited and nervous, as I’d no idea what the rest of the day held. As we walked out on to the terrace I got the most beautiful birthday surprise when I saw my whole family sat waiting for me at the table! My dad and three brothers had flown out from the UK. It was emotional and I remember thinking my day was complete before it had really started.
After lunch we were escorted to waiting cars and taken to the Dubai Marina where a fabulous 86 foot yacht, decorated in turquoise and white balloons was waiting for me. We were greeted by the crew of Exclusive Yachts, and as I walked up the stairs to the top deck, all my friends were waiting for me, and were also dressed in turquoise and blues, which was very touching.

After we docked by at the Marina, surprise No.3 was a meal at one of my favourite restaurants, Asia Asia, at Pier 7. I felt very grateful to have such a wonderful and fun packed day and night. I’d like to say a big thank you to all my family and friends and a special thanks to my amazing husband for all the hard work and careful planning that must have been involved in making this my best birthday ever!
