Stepping Out with Lisa

15 Jun 2015

Our DPA students did themselves proud - including our kids!

Congratulations to all our fab students and our DPA Team for a successful debut show! DPA Performs… 2015! was a milestone for us all as we only launched our performing arts academy nine months ago, and so it was a very special night for Johnny and I.

It was also a big night for our children as it was also their stage debut. Jaden wowed the crowds with his Michael Jackson moves and Star Lily sang a beautiful rendition of Frozen’s Do You Wanna Build a Snowman. It’s wonderful to see them following in mummy and daddy’s footprints! Our DPA students also stepped up to the mark and gave a great performance, showcasing musical reviews of Matilda, Annie, Fame and Chicago.

It was the first production that Johnny and I have directed and produced together and we were really pleased with the end result. We also announced new and exciting additions to our timetable starting in September, such as our affiliation with LAMDA, Trinity and ISTD. Johnny was a bit cheeky though as he pulled me up at the end of the show and the whole academy surprised me by singing one of our Steps hits <Tragedy>. I was really touched and it brought a tear to my eye. We were so proud of each and every one of our students! Thank you to everyone who came to support us and to our DPA families for their support. Here’s to an even bigger show next year!

GlamBox for Breakfast
I was invited to a lovely breakfast to celebrate the new GlamBox, featuring my fave product Bioderma, which I’ve told you about before. The event was held at the new Cove Beach restaurant, at Jumeirah Beach Hotel and I enjoyed a girlie breakfast getting to know the GlamBox team. They told me about the contents of this month’s box which included Photoderm max fluid, Sensibio makeup remover, purifying foaming gel and eye contour gel among other things. It’s perfect for those summer travels plans.

Oh Yes it’s Ladies Night
As we are approaching the end of the school year, my lovely mum’s group decided to have one last mum’s night out. We did it in style and I introduced them all to one of the best ladies night in town, China Grill at the Westin. It’s become really popular since its launch and I think the pop-up boutique is one of the reasons why as it gives it a cool edge and I couldn’t resist picking up another of local designer Maarli’s gorgeous jumpsuits. Johnny informed me that the school yard was full of dad’s, as the mother’s had a much needed lie-in!
