Staycation Review: Luxury in the capital

There is no shortage of luxury hotels in the UAE, but when it comes to extreme decadence, it’s hard to beat The St. Regis Abu Dhabi. Located at the heart of the Abu Dhabi Corniche, the stunning hotel merges authentic Arabian hospitality with more than a hundred years of bespoke St. Regis tradition. Glamour aside, it’s a stone throw from the Corniche’s azure waters and just minutes from Marina Mall and the World Trade Centre, making it a perfect weekend getaway in the capital. And if you’re not keen to venture out too far, the hotel is also home to Nation Riviera Beach Club. Nation Riviera features a 200-metre private beach, secluded cabanas, a spacious infinity pool complete with gardens, and a swim-up pool bar. That’s exactly where you’ll find us floating all afternoon.

A-LIST ABODE
Situated between the 33rd and 49th floors, each of the hotel’s 228 guestrooms and 55 suites o er magnificent views of the Arabian Gulf and the UAE capital. And if you’ve ever wanted to feel like an A-list celeb, the hotel experience is further personified by the signature St. Regis Butler service, available to all guests, providing complimentary unpacking and packing, garment pressing services, co ee service, and 24-hour access to the eButler service. For those who are really able to splash cash like an A-lister (lucky you), the diamond in the crown of the hotel is the mind-blowing Abu Dhabi Suite. Situated 220 metres above sea level, this is the world’s highest suspended suite, spanning between the two Nation Towers. Occupying a spacious 1120 square metres over two floors, the suite features four bedrooms, a private library, cinema, spa, and captivating 360-degree views of the city and the Arabian Gulf. Fortunately, you don’t need to make it rain to experience the famous Abu Dhabi Suite. The hotel’s monthly Brunch in the Clouds is held there, allowing you to feel like Beyoncé for a couple of glorious hours.

DECADENT DINING
The hotel features nine different restaurants and lounges with six separate outdoor dining options, meaning you’re spoilt for choice, even if you decide to stay on the property. Restaurants include The Terrace on the Corniche for day- to-night international cuisine, and Villa Toscana, which serves hand- crafted, regional Italian specialties from Tuscany, Umbria, and Emilia- Romagna. Afterwards, relax and unwind at The St. Regis Bar. Adhering to the tradition of classic bars dating back to New York’s Gilded Age, The St Regis Bar is an intimate and regal space finished in rich walnut.

TREAT YOURSELF
No luxury staycation could possibly be complete without a bit of pampering. The hotel’s Remède Spa is one of the UAE’s largest spas at 3,000 square metres, and offers 25 different bespoke facials, massages, body treatments, and spa packages for both ladies and men, given by highly trained masseurs and aestheticians. It also houses 11 private treatment rooms, each decorated with natural materials and earth tones, as well as luxe candles, wooden floors and hand-crafted tile mosaics. You’ll never want to leave.
