Star Trek movie looking for Dubai extras!

If you have been a Star Trek fan through the ages and know your Romulans from your Vulcans, then this will be a dream come true!

According to a report in Gulf News, an open casting call has gone up on the Facebook page of Miranda Davidson Studios for “the largest feature film to be shot in Dubai in over 5 years.” They were also the local casting agent for Fast and Furious 7.

Star Trek is all to film in Dubai in October. The casting call invites anyone between the ages of six and 70, of any nationality or ethnicity and have been asked to bring their passport Or Emirates ID as proof of identity. It will take place at Dubai Studio City, Soundstage Building B, on the ground floor, between 2pm and 8pm, on August 11, 12 and 13.

Titled Star Trek Beyond, this is third film in the classic sci-fi reboot and will come out in July next year right in time for the 50th anniversary of the franchise. The film stars Zachary Quinto as Spock, Chris Pine as Captain Kirk and this instalment will also feature Idris Elba and will be directed by Justin Lin. The film is co-scripted by British actor and writer Simon Pegg, who also plays the spaceship Enterprise’s chief engineer, Scotty.
