Spice Girls win big at BRITs

Thirteen years after a show-stopping performance of their hit Who Do You Think You Are, the Spice Girls were given a chance to celebrate at last night’s Brit Awards after being honoured with the Best BRITs Performance of the Last 30 Years title.

Beating out such heavyweights as Sir Paul McCartney and Robbie Williams, the ladies proved their iconic status in music. The girl group enjoyed astronomical success in the 1990s and split in 2000 after the departure of Geri ‘Ginger Spice’ Halliwell in 1998.

In 2007, the girls teamed up for a reunion tour in Europe and North America, and proving they still had loyal fans, the shows went on to earn them the Billboard 2008 Touring Award for Top Boxscore.

Accepting the award last night was Geri and Melanie ‘Scary Spice’ Brown, who said, “First I wanna say thanks to the fans! The Spire Girls are the best.”

Girl power!
