SOLO Bistronomia, RAFFLES, DUBAI
The decor sets a quirky tone. Check out the neon ancient Greek-style bust wearing Ray-Bans on the bar. Exposed brickwork, framed ornamental cow heads and wheels of overhead lighting lend an art gallery feel.
Risotto aficionados will be impressed by Solo’s mushroom rendition. Unlike most risottos, it’s beautifully presented as a mound of creamy rice filled with molten cheese and decorated with a halo of wild and earthy mixed ’shrooms. It’s an Ahlan! favourite.
Try the lorighittas allo scoglio, if you like your pasta al dente. This is literally the way grandma used to
make it, created by hand onsite, according to old Italian family recipes.
Never forget how good simple Italian fare can taste. The platter of Italian cured cold cuts accompanied by Solo’s bread selection make the perfect starter or even a lunch by themselves.
Don’t leave without trying the steamed tiramisu. You’re used to this pudding being cold, but at Solo the chefs steam it for seven minutes to create soufflé-like lightness. It’s the perfect twist on an old classic.
