Sole DXB announces it’s much anticipated event details for 2015, with the support of Dubai Design District (d3), Cadillac, Pepsi, Timeout Dubai, and Vida Hotels and Resorts.

The celebrated two-day festival sprung out of Dubai, returns this November 20 & 21, at d3, offering up a refreshing dose of street culture, cut with distinctive Middle Eastern flair. As the spotlight once again returns to the region’s annual showing, Sole DXB presents the first glimpses of their 2015 showcase event, told through distinctive visuals by Hassan Hajjaj, represented by The Third Line, and in so doing firmly places itself amongst the world’s leading trade shows and festivals.

Having begun life sneaker-focused, Sole DXB has grown into so much more – a melting pot of cultures, passions, styles and logos. The event once again opens its doors to some of the biggest figures from across street industries, including sneakers, hip-hop, basketball and art. Over the two days, a series of globally never seen-before product is set to be unveiled from a host of participating brands such as Adidas Originals, Puma Select, and Reebok Classics.

Sole DXB’s own ‘Early Retirement’ pop-up will be on display, selling exclusive collabs with the likes of Puma, Filling Pieces, and New Era. And from off the shelf, to out of the lock-up, Swap & Sale will offer people the opportunity to source rare and limited edition footwear with fifteen hand-picked regionally-based collectors showcasing their wears. With style bases firmly covered and further details set to be announced, music will take center stage and provide the soundtrack for the 48 hours, with 4 live headline acts, and a host of international and local DJs on rotation. As ever, basketball will play a key part in event proceedings, The Sole Ball Above All Classic, an open winner-takes-all tournament made up of 12 teams from the region, getting the blood pumping.

Artwork is provided from a range of creative sources, including the BAQALA installation celebrating a fading cultural asset to the Middle East, conceptualized by We Are the Medium, in partnership with Pepsi, marking their 50 years in the region.Lisa Leone, one of the world’s most iconic sub-cultural photographers, will be shooting live at the event, with the support of Cadillac and Bloomingdales. Finally, there will be a series of talks covering every facet of street culture – from historical to abstract, subversive to specialist, including conversations with music supremo Bobbito Garcia.

This year, with a heavyweight billing and key players both globally and regionally, DXB is the new home of the Street Culture Festival.
