Snooki to Present MTV Awards
MTV’s bringing out its big guns at the 2011 EMA (Europe Music Awards) - Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi and Jenni 'Jwoww' Farley from Jersey Shore and Ashley Rickards from the channel's hot new series Awkward have been announced as the first batch of presenters for the show to be held in Belfast on 6 November.
Jersey Shore, currently in its fourth season, averages 7.59 million viewers per episode and Snooki, among its controversial lead players, will be aiming to spice up the entertainment at the EMAs.
Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars on Same Bill
To keep up with that celeb tempo, the line-up of performers at the Awards this year is getting hotter too! Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars - this year’s top female and male EMA nominees - are set to perform at the show. Gaga and Mars, both Grammy winners, have been making waves the world over with their unique styles. The former - leader of the Little Monsters - is the top selling artist of 2010, with singles from her third studio album Born This Way having sold a combined total of more than 7 million copies in the US alone. Known as much for her consistently outrageous fashion choices as for being named Forbes' Most Powerful Woman in the World in 2011, she's a true musical force to reckon with. Mars, born in Hawaii, is a multi-talented singer, songwriter, musician and producer, who scored multi-platinum status straight off with his debut album Doo-Wops & Hooligans.
Gaga and Mars join A-listers including Coldplay, Jessie J, LMFAO, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Snow Patrol, who’re also performing at the show.
Selena Gomez to Host
The stars will be performing across three locations – the Odyssey Arena, Ulster Hall and City Hall – in Belfast, in what’s going to be a first for the EMA Awards. Selena Gomez will be hosting, and we totally see her cheering for Justin Bieber, who’s up for three awards!
Meanwhile, it's Lady Gaga who’s leading the nominees pack with six nominations, riding high on her third album Born This Way. Bruno Mars follows closely behind - the star has four nominations, as does Katy Perry. Adele and Thirty Seconds To Mars are also in the running for three awards each.
