He's gone and done something strange again! Shia LaBeouf has been released from jail following an appearance in court in New York City on Friday morning (27 June) to face charges stemming from his dramatic arrest at a Broadway theatre.
The Transformers star was hauled out of a performance of musical Cabaret on Thursday night (26 June) amid allegations he was disrupting the show and smoking inside the Studio 54 theatre.
He was arrested and subsequently charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass before spending the night in jail.
Shia appeared at a Manhattan court on Friday morning and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
He was released and walked out of the courtroom to a nearby hotel. He is now due back in court on 24 July.
The actor's arrest comes after months of increasingly bizarre behaviour which has sparked fears for his well-being.
He hit headlines earlier this year when he walked the red carpet at a film festival in Germany wearing a brown paper bag on his head, while he also became part of an odd art installation in Los Angeles and announced plans to retire from public life.
Shia's apparent meltdown started trending on Twitter, and prompted Girls star Lena Dunham to post, "I feel you Shia: In 1993 I was carried out of Les Mis (Les Miserables) screaming because I couldn't handle the intimations of death."
