Abu Dhabi’s emblematic mosque is a crowd favourite

From the Traveler’s Choice Awards 2016, TripAdvisor revealed people’s ranking of their favourite places around the globe where among the world’s top 25 monuments, Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has been ranked at the second position, just after Peru’s iconic Machu Picchu.

The ranking was made from traveller’s reviews of destinations and places they visited during the year. Dubai’s famous Burj Khalifa beat other renowned monuments such as the Australian War Memorial and the Sydney Opera House. The world’s tallest tower is at the 22nd position in the world’s top 25 landmarks.

There were 10 categories overall: restaurants, destinations, beaches, museums, landmarks, attractions, destinations on the rise, as well as hotels and all-inclusive resorts. London (UK) is world’s top destinations’ award-winner, Maui (Hawaii) is world’s number one beach, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art (NY) is world’s top museum.
